Our History
The Organ Manual started life as a Blog in 2019 by Anna Hallett following the research she carried out for a project on young organists. The early days report is still available here – ‘Inspiring Organists of the Future’. There are so many valuable organ related organisations, magazines, groups, websites and more out there. Anna felt it was sometimes difficult to know which way to turn for the information you are looking for, especially if you are new to the organ world and so, The Organ Manual developed into a Magazine. In 2023 Dr Rebekah Okpoti became Editor of The Organ Manual transforming this specialist Organ Magazine into a leading Global Specialist Magazine in the Pipe Organ growing from an audience based in the south of England to an International readership spanning the Diversity, Projects and Research taking place around the world.
I’d like to write an article for the magazine. Can I do this?
Most certainly! We’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch and we can start the conversation. The Organ Manual has Short form 800-1000 word articles, new CD/Publication Reviews and Research Articles between 5000-8000 words. The Organ Manual publishes articles from young voices, unheard/new voices, reviews, experienced voices, organ and other fields voices and academic research, peer reviewed articles showing the range of work taking place internationally in the organ world.
I want to place an AD for a course/product/business in the Magazine.
Please email theorganmanual@gmail.com for an Advertisement pack for more information. We are a small team of three Helena & Rosie who support our editor Rebekah but we will get back to you as soon as possible.
